RAM has announced that it will be alongside the MXGP Championship in the role of official partner for the 2023 season. A collaboration that further underlines the American brand's connection with the world of sports competition and complements the RAM’s parallel partnership with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, which has already in place and renewed for this season as well.
For the first time, RAM will feature on the racetracks as official Partner of one of the most prestigious offroad Championships in the world. After the successful cooperation started during the 2022 season in Loket, the two brands establish now an official partnership. RAM’s vehicles are expected to be along the track and on the paddock, as well as in all the sponsorship materials related to the events' organization. RAM will stand out not only on race days, but also during the qualifying races on Saturday, being the title sponsor of the revamped MXGP and MX2 qualifying heats, which will be called RAM Qualifying Races. RAM and MXGP will collaborate throughout the 2023 season, starting with the upcoming MXGP of Argentina, which takes place this weekend, March 11-12, at Villa La Angostura in Patagonia. The Championship's debut GP will see two RAM vehicles featuring branded and dedicated stickers, underlining the global presence of the American brand in this new season.
“It is a historic moment for our brand as reference and a front runner in the pick up world, and always strongly committed to push the limits, innovate and redefine what a pick up truck can be.” stated Domenico Gostoli, Head of RAM & Dodge Brands Enlarged Europe “These are all values we find in the pure sporting spirit of the MXGP Championship. We are extremely proud of this collaboration which aims to bring even more intense emotions to our passionate customer base around the world.”.
“It is with a great honor and excitement that we announce this new partnership. RAM is one of the most prestigious and iconic car brands in the world, and it will fit perfectly with the spirit of the MXGP. Motocross is a very demanding sport and needs strong, powerful, reliable and iconic cars to be associated with. This is exactly what RAM is. We feel very proud to start this journey together, benefitting from the world establishment of RAM to continue to grow and develop our sport and bring it to uncharted territories. RAM and MXGP are made to serve each other and to grow each other.” stated David Luongo, Infront Moto Racing CEO.
The MXGP Championship and the legendary Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations
MXGP is the FIM Motocross World Championship and one of the biggest offroad championships around the globe, featuring top MXGP and MX2 riders who go head-to-head for the ultimate prize of being crowned the World Champion in their category and taking home the highly sought-after title. The FIM Motocross World Championship typically makes stops around the world, including Europe, Asia, South America, USA and more. Plus, the legendary Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations brings the best riders in the world together for a unique team event that sees each nation battles it out for the Chamberlain Trophy.
RAM alongside MXGP: sponsorship and on-site presence
For the first time, RAM joins the official sponsors of the MXGP Championship. It is a collaboration rooted in the cooperation started during the 2022 season, when RAM was present onsite at various events - for the first time in Loket, Czech Republic - and provided the vehicles to bring riders to the press conferences. Also, the American brand was present at the 2022 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations which took place in Red Bud parading riders during the team presentations to the crowd.
The new adventure will allow the American brand to be present on racetracks at all events and ensure greater media exposure. The presence of vehicles on site at the events, along the track and on the paddock, is planned and will increase the opportunity to learn more about RAM's product range, familiarize audiences with the brand around the world, and bring the brand even closer to fans.
The sponsorship also includes the presence of the brand at the events and in everything related to their organization both from a structural point of view – with RAM appearing on the bridges of the various circuits and on panels all along the track – and from a media and information perspective. In fact, the brand's logo will flank those of other prestigious sponsors on the materials used for interviews, such as official backdrops and side banners.
A collaboration that is not limited to race days but also includes Saturday's qualifying races: RAM will also play an absolute starring role, being the title sponsor of the revamped MXGP and MX2 qualifying heats, which will be called RAM Qualifying Races.
RAM: 2022 is confirmed as full of successes
RAM Truck was launched in 2009 in the US as a stand-alone division, focused on meeting the demands of truck buyers and delivering benchmark-quality vehicles. With a full lineup — RAM 1500, 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab — RAM designs trucks which aid customers in heavy-duty work and take them wherever they need to go. The RAM 1500 lineup also includes the Know & Go mobile app featuring an immersive experience for customers who want to learn more about their vehicles.
RAM continues to outperform the competition and sets the benchmarks for several important features, such as towing capacity, payload, interior space and much more.
After the successes collected in 2021, 2022 confirmed the appreciation of customers and critics for the RAM Brand, which won 20 awards during the year. Prominent among them was the 2022 Best Truck Brand award, received for the third consecutive year by U.S. News and World. As for individual models, of note are the Top Safety Pick award-delivered by IIHS-and 2022 Full-size Pickup of the Year-delivered by Auto123-obtained by the RAM 1500 for the third and fourth year in a row, respectively.
Accomplishments enhanced by the first months of this 2023, in which the Brand has already secured eight awards, including Car and Driver's Editor's Choice for the RAM 1500 RTX model for the tenth consecutive year.
RAM 1500 TRX: class-leading power and speed
Designed and tested to last long and perform well under the most extreme conditions, the RAM 1500 TRX is the American brand's flagship model. Not surprisingly, it will be the main vehicle featured again this season alongside the Red Bull KTM Factory teams.
With a 702-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® V-8 engine and a high-capacity TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, the fast and powerful half-ton pickup offers uncompromising performance and allows for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Characterized by segment-leading refinement and sophistication – with luxurious interiors, fine materials, meticulous attention-to-detail, quality and driving comfort – the RAM 1500 TRX displays special features never before offered in pickups.
Capable of fording water up to 80 cm/812 mm, towing up to 3,674 kg and carrying a payload of up to 594 kg to face the most difficult situations with ease, the model excels in top-of-the-line driving and handling, as well as a tuning geared towards high-speed racing for even better on-road and off-road capability.
In addition, the RAM 1500 TRX is periodically renewed through the introduction of special series that showcase ever-evolving details and distinctive features. The unveiling of the next version is scheduled for April, during the races, with a model that will feature special body color and dedicated graphics.
RAM Rebel and Laramie: the fast and powerful RAM 1500s
The RAM 1500 Rebel is the right choice for anyone looking for a vehicle to ride off-road without fear. This is possible thanks to several features of this model, such as the sport performance hood, the coil suspension with 1-inch lift and 9.7-inch ground clearance, the all-terrain 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, the hill descent control and Selec-Speed control (available on 4x4 models). RAM 1500 Rebel is available with two engines (3.6L V6 eTorque engine and 5.7L V8 Hemi eTorque engine, reaching 395 HP, 555 Nm of torque and max towing 5235 kg which allows RAM 1500 Rebel to overcome any obstacle) and with attractive interiors also available with red trim. The aggressive and sporty nature of the Rebel still leaves room for a fantastic driving experience, thanks to the advanced technology, that characterizes the interiors, and the numerous monitoring systems.
The RAM 1500 Laramie sets itself apart for its combination of best-in-class performance, payload, luxury and technology, making it one of the best-selling models in Europe, but also for the huge availability of options and packages. This truck has 2 engines available: 3.6L V6 eTorque and 5.7L V8 Hemi eTorque, which allows it to reach the power of 395 hp and 5230 kg of max towing. The Laramie is also excellent from a technological point of view, with a 12-inch touchscreen, remote vehicle start, advanced brake assist, forward collision warning with active breaking and various driving comforts including heated seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. The Laramie model agreed upon in the partnership also includes the night edition package which is a set of premium features and aesthetic upgrades such as leather-trimmed bucket seats, black interior trim, black night edition badging and heated mirrors.
RAM 1500 REV, electrification power
At the same time, in a real revolution that began over the past year, the brand is moving closer to electric mobility solutions. 2023 began with important news in this regard as RAM confirmed the name of its first 100% electric pickup truck: the RAM 1500 REV—the first step towards the brand’s ambitious goal of bringing the industry’s best electrified options to market. The vehicle will outperform the competition, offering the leading combination of attributes customers care about the most: range, payload, towing and charge time.
As stated by Mike Koval Jr, the brand’s CEO, production of the all-new RAM 1500 REV will begin next year and will be formally revealed to the public in the coming months.
